The Cultural Landscape Foundation is sponsoring a What’s Out There Weekend Los Angeles on October 26 & 27. Discover Southern California’s remarkable landscape through FREE tours of two-dozen historic landscapes in Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Santa Monica.
The history of Los Angeles area landscape ranges from its Spanish Colonial roots to the present, with Asian, Hispanic, and African American influences. Known for distinct Modernist design that connects indoors and outdoors in innovative ways, the Los Angeles region also has a unique Postmodernist history witnessed in public spaces that meld architecture, landscape architecture, and art.
What’s Out There is the most comprehensive searchable database of historic designed landscapes, featuring more than 1,400 sites, 9,000 images, and 700 designer profiles.
